Cephalon
The technical process of uncovering fossils is reminiscent of the method used to create Cephalon. Just as the rock is removed to bring a fossil to light, I milled my sculpture out of a block of aluminium. Both processes share the idea of making the hidden visible. Sandblasting was used to erode the metal surfaces. The removal of the material corresponds to geological methods in which the removal of the layers of earth is equivalent to a regression in time.
