The globe moves and vibrates. There is not a single moment of rest. The natural vibration of the earth creates a frequency that is beyond human perception. Frequencies that are created in the atmosphere and in the earth‘s interior. Signals from earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and meteorite impacts. The human body resonates with these signals. Just like the hum of the earth, the brain also produces a frequency in the same range. It seems as if the world vibrates at 16 hertz. My graduation show takes up this phenomenon. At the threshold of human hearing, a low tone hums through the room. In music theory, the organ tone subcontra-C with its 16 hertz, is also known as the tone of humility.
